Lugana, DOC wine, takes its name from its origins or the Lugana locality in the municipality of Sirmione del Garda. Currently the area is extended into five municipalities: Desenzano, Sirmione, Pozzolengo, Lonato and Peschiera. In these territories the clays are stratified, mainly calcareous and rich in mineral salts.
It must be produced with at least 90% Turbiana (Trebbiano di Lugana) and the remaining part with non-aromatic white grape varieties.
The vintage Lugana is a wine with a pale straw yellow color and greenish reflections; the aromas are delicately floral, with a hint of almond notes, while the taste is fresh, pleasantly citrusy and long.
